Colouring tips and techniques
Kitty's Cat : Colouring Book for Adults Book One Page: 7. Coloured using a mix of felt tip and gel tip pens.
Felt tip, fibre tips and gel tip pens come in a dazzling array of vibrant colours. They are not messy and easy to use, so ideal for the colouring book novice.

I particularly like flourescent colouring pens; the colours are zingy and instantly cheerful.

I used Staedtler Fibre Tip Pens for this example; however there is a wide choice of pens for colouring books on the market.

It is advisable to pay a bit more for art or colouring grade pens. I have found some of the cheaper pens, aimed at children, to be scratchy, which can lift the fibres and cause tears in the pages.
TIP: When colouring your book, the ink shouldn't bleed through the paper; however there is blank page at the back of Kitty's Cat Colouring Book to tear out and put between the pages if it does.
